TIMBER TREATMENT

Timber Treatment Specialists in Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and the West Midlands

All measures that are taken to ensure a long life of wood fall under the definition of wood preservation (timber treatment). Apart from structural wood preservation measures, there are a number of different (chemical) preservatives and processes (also known as timber treatment or lumber treatment) that can extend the life of wood, timber, wood structures or engineered wood. These generally increase the durability and resistance from being destroyed by insects or fungus.

Dampguard use TUG's own Tribor water soluble products - ready to use formulations based on inorganic boron with glycol carriers. They are highly effective for the treatment of insect and fungal attack in timber and for the control of dry rot, mosses, lichen, fungi and algae on internal and external surfaces.

Due to the hygroscopic nature of the Tribor products they are particularly suited to damp "at risk" timbers such as embedded joist ends, lintels, wall plates, rafters, panelling etc. Low volatility Tribor products offer deep penetration into wet or dry timber and masonry. They are virtually odourless and non flammable and have a very low mammalian toxicity.
